Amin Younes joined the California Public Utilities Commission’s Public Advocates Office in 2021 as a Utilities Engineer, where he worked primarily on distribution planning and forecasting, transportation electrification, interconnection of distributed generation resources, and several general rate cases.  Before joining the Public Advocates Office, Amin was a graduate student research assistant at the Schatz Energy Research Center at Humboldt State University (now Cal Poly Humboldt), where he quantified Humboldt County’s offshore wind resource, assessed effects of state and federal transportation decarbonization policies, and investigated the potential to generate renewable resources locally in Humboldt County.  Amin holds a Master’s in Environmental Systems from Humboldt State University and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.
